CAF Awards 2026: Amad Diallo the Only Ivorian Nominated for African Player of the Year

Ivory Coast and Manchester United winger Amad Diallo is among the ten nominees for the 2026 African Player of the Year award announced by CAF on November 4. He is the only Ivorian shortlisted, alongside candidates including defending winner Achraf Hakimi, Sadio Mané, Antoine Semenyo and Yoane Wissa. Diallo scored four goals at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, where Ivory Coast was eliminated by Egypt in the quarter-finals. He also featured in the Elephants’ run to the round of 16 at the 2026 World Cup; the winner will be announced in Lagos on December 7.
