CALC faults AAC for declaring court a campaign venue

The Centre for Advocacy for Credible Leadership (CALC) criticised the African Action Congress (AAC) for designating the environs of the Federal High Court and Federal Ministry of Justice in Abuja as campaign venues in October. CALC Secretary-General Samuel Kolawole warned that the party’s planned mobilisation outside the court on October 19 could disrupt proceedings, threaten public order and turn public institutions into sites of political confrontation. Regarding the legal proceedings involving AAC presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore, the group urged the party to pursue remedies through the courts and respect judicial independence. It called on AAC leaders and young supporters to avoid mobilisation that could lead to violence or obstruct court proceedings ahead of the 2027 elections.

Priorities include targeted research into diseases affecting women, such as endometriosis, and getting promising treatments to female patients sooner.
