Cameroon: Djeukam Tchameni Takes Bruno Bidjang to Court

From Kondengui prison, Cameroonian opposition figure Djeukam Tchameni is suing journalist Bruno Bidjang for defamation. He accuses Bidjang of publishing, on the night of his arrest in Douala on October 24, 2025, a fabricated inventory of weapons, ammunition, uniforms, tramadol, cash and fake ELECAM polling records to justify his detention. The Facebook post was widely shared, but the promised images were never released. Tchameni leads the MDI party, founded in 1997.
