Cameroon officially stores 1,036 kg of gold at the Caisse des dépôts et consignations (CDEC), but 15 tons are believed to have been exported to the United Arab Emirates without official declaration. The September 2026 Treasury Bulletin states that 838 bars, totaling 1,036.142 kg, were transferred to the CDEC in September 2024, doubling the stock in one year. The government does not explain the origin of this gold. The UAE reports importing over 15 tons of gold from Cameroon in 2023, creating a significant discrepancy with official Cameroonian figures.
