Cameroon – Martinez Zogo: “Tortured in the Prado,” Colonel Says

Lieutenant-Colonel Parfait Ayissi Nanga told the Yaoundé military court on October 27, 2026, that Martinez Zogo had been tortured in a Toyota Prado believed to have been used in his abduction. The investigating officer described a strong smell of human excrement, used engine oil, and a thin layer of white powder inside the vehicle. Zogo, director of Amplitude FM, was abducted on January 17, 2023, outside a gendarmerie post in Yaoundé; his body was found five days later in Soa. The hearing also covered early warnings sent to the Secretary of State for Defense and instructions to wait related to the DGRE.
