Belgium said a car from its consulate had a window smashed and a French mayor was assaulted. Belgian Foreign Minister Maxime Prevot called for those responsible to face justice and urged EU sanctions; Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar and the Israeli military also condemned the violence. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office cast doubt on the account and suggested it was part of a coordinated campaign to smear Israel.

‘I can’t die like this’: flydubai pilot recounts cockpit attack

Indian pilot Smit Machchhar told Sky News Arabia about being attacked with an axe in the cockpit of a flydubai flight bound for Tel Aviv. Injured in the head and hand, he tried to open the cockpit door to let another pilot in before the aircraft plunged. The UAE attorney general said the 29-year-old Omani co-pilot planned a suicide attack on the Ben Gurion Airport terminal, though investigators are still checking whether he acted alone. Another pilot on board, assisted by a crew member and passengers, subdued the attacker and regained control, and the plane made an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia.
