Cameroon: Official funeral of Cavayé Yéguié Djibril set for May 23

The official funeral of Cavayé Yéguié Djibril will take place on May 23, 2026, in Mora, Mayo-Sava department. The former president of the National Assembly passed away on May 6 at the age of 86. Although he was buried on the same day of his death according to Muslim tradition, this ceremony will allow the Cameroonian state to pay tribute to his 34 years of service as head of the National Assembly.
