Cameroon - Pink October in Souza: Lions Club Douala Candle Strengthens Fight Against Women's Cancers

In Souza-Bekouma, the Lions Club Douala Candle held a breast and cervical cancer screening and early treatment campaign at the Cecarepha Cancer and Pharmacopoeia Research Center on October 10-11, 2026. Led by oncologist Dr. Michel Mouelle, a team of 13 health professionals conducted consultations and screenings, identifying 45 women, with 10 receiving treatment. The event is part of the October Pink campaign to raise awareness about women's health.
