Cameroon: SMEs pay their credit 4.71 points more than large companies

Cameroonian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) continue to face higher interest rates than large companies. In the fourth quarter of 2025, the average effective global rate (TEG) for SMEs was 11.43%, compared to 6.72% for large companies, resulting in a gap of 4.71 points. For treasury financing, the TEG for SMEs reached 13.82%, while that for large companies was 6.84%. However, for medium-term loans, SMEs benefited from a TEG of 11.15%, lower than the 11.79% for large companies.
