Cameroon-U.S.: Washington proposes the man behind migrant expulsion agreements as ambassador in Yaoundé - Lebledparle

Washington has submitted the nomination of Christian Ehrhardt, known in Cameroon as Christian Jové Ehrhardt, to become the U.S. ambassador to Cameroon. The Senate is currently reviewing his candidacy, Ehrhardt having previously worked in Yaoundé as a regional security officer. In 2025, he returned to Cameroon amid the implementation of a migrant expulsion policy, part of an agreement to transfer 1,000 third-country nationals, with a $30 million grant to the International Organization for Migration.
