Cameroon – Yaoundé Ring Road: Decree Signed, Construction Still Waiting

On 5 November 2026, Paul Biya signed a decree authorizing the Minister of Economy, Planning and Regional Development to conclude a €150 million financing agreement with the European Investment Bank, worth about CFAF 98.4 billion. The decree also allows the signing of a €43.06 million EU investment grant and a €3.8 million technical assistance agreement. The European contributions total €46.86 million, while the project requires CFAF 229 billion. Despite a promised CFAF 129 billion for the third quarter, construction of the Yaoundé ring road still has no start date.
