Campaigns: Tinubu Cannot Compete with Peter Obi, Says Sam Amadi

Dr Sam Amadi, director of the Abuja School of Social and Political Thought, said Nigerian President Bola Tinubu cannot match the campaign intensity expected from NDC candidate Peter Obi or ADC candidate Atiku Abubakar. Speaking on Arise News, Amadi criticized Tinubu’s limited campaigning and failure to travel to states, including areas affected by tragedies. He noted that presidents seeking a second term usually take their case directly to voters, while Tinubu is relying in part on governors as proxies. Amadi said television debates and direct answers to voters’ concerns could help offset the president’s reduced presence on the campaign trail.
