The small Pacific nation of Palau has avoided mass coral bleaching events due to its unusually heat-resistant reefs. As global temperatures continue to rise, Palau is cultivating 'super coral'. Scientists in Australia believe this technology could be the best chance to save coral reefs from annihilation and plan to spread larvae on the Great Barrier Reef.
