The Canadian government has warned newcomers about scams involving individuals pretending to be immigration officials. According to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), employees will never ask immigrants to deposit money into a personal bank account, make urgent payments, or use gift cards to pay immigration fees. Additionally, they will not threaten arrest or deportation over unpaid fees, nor will they offer special immigration deals.
