Cape Town pastor dies after alleged smash-and-grab attack in Samora Machel

Anthea Wilkinson, a pastor at Jesus Celebration International (JCI), died in hospital on October 24, almost two weeks after suffering critical head injuries in an alleged smash-and-grab attack in Samora Machel. At about 7:45pm on October 11, she was travelling in a white Ford Figo near the R300 and Jakes Gerwel Road when a loud bang came from the passenger-side window. The driver found Wilkinson unconscious and bleeding from the head and took her to Philippi police station. Police have opened a murder investigation, and no arrests have been made.
