Cape Town wins two titles at World Travel Awards Africa 2026

Cape Town was named Africa's Leading City Destination 2026 and Africa's Leading Meetings & Conference Destination 2026 at the World Travel Awards held in Zanzibar. These awards highlight the city's tourist appeal, including Table Mountain and its culinary scene, as well as its capacity to host major events. In 2025, visitor arrivals at Cape Town International Airport increased by 17%, while foreign investment in the city rose by 18%. Cape Town Tourism CEO Enver Duminy described this double win as a significant achievement.
