Cape Verde: School Bus Driver Dies with 23 Students in Accident on Fogo Island

Twenty-four people died on Saturday evening on Fogo Island, Cape Verde, after a school bus fell into a ravine. The vehicle was carrying mainly teenagers from the villages of Curral Grande and Ponta Verde for an excursion organized by the driver, who also died in the accident. Eighteen injured individuals were reported, four of whom are in critical condition, and an investigation has been launched to determine the circumstances of the accident.
