Carlos Queiroz quits as Ghana coach after AFCON qualifying defeats

Carlos Queiroz resigned as Ghana coach after a 4-2 home defeat to Gambia in AFCON qualifiers, deepening the Black Stars' crisis. The Ghana Football Association stated that the contract was mutually terminated less than a month after his reappointment. Queiroz, 73, leaves with a record of one win, two draws, and four losses in seven matches, with five goals scored and ten conceded. His five-month tenure began in April with a four-month contract to lead Ghana to the 2026 World Cup.
