Carol Koech: ‘You could do everything right and still earn nothing’

Carol Koech, vice president for Africa at the Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet, grew up in Olenguruone, Kenya, where she witnessed energy poverty. After working for General Electric in Nigeria and Schneider Electric in East Africa, she now leads African operations of an alliance founded during COP26 by the Rockefeller Foundation, IKEA Foundation, and Bezos Earth Fund. She also launched the Point One initiative urging corporations to commit 0.1% of revenue to development.
