Carrick not distracted by speculation over United future

Ahead of Manchester United’s Champions League match against Roma, Michael Carrick said speculation about his future would not affect the team’s preparation or performance. United are winless in nine matches, their worst run in 38 years, and have taken just one win and seven points from their opening nine Premier League fixtures. After the 2-0 defeat at Chelsea, Carrick defended the players’ commitment, including that of Lisandro Martínez, who was sent off after conceding a penalty. He said United need to play better and make better decisions quickly.
