Carrick shrugs off Man Utd sack talk ahead of Roma match

Michael Carrick dismissed suggestions that he has only two matches left as Manchester United manager ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League clash with Roma. His position is under pressure after a 2-0 loss to Chelsea extended United’s winless run to nine games; the club has taken just seven points from nine league matches. Carrick defended Lisandro Martínez’s commitment after the defender was sent off against Chelsea and said the dressing room remained in a good place. Kobbie Mainoo said one win could change the team’s fortunes as United sit 20th in the Champions League table after a 4-1 defeat at Como.
