CBC: Balance sheet decreases by 43 billion FCFA, refinancing guarantees rise to 150 billion

Commercial Bank-Cameroun (CBC) saw its balance sheet shrink by 43.49 billion FCFA in one month, from 872.04 billion to 828.55 billion FCFA at the end of August 2026. Meanwhile, the guarantees deposited for refinancing increased by 39.14 billion FCFA to reach 149.87 billion FCFA. The resources obtained from banks and financial institutions decreased by 29.07 billion FCFA, from 217.28 billion to 188.21 billion FCFA, while the deposit guarantees rose, indicating a shift in the bank's resource dynamics. Customer deposits also declined, reflecting an overall resource contraction.
