The Central African States Bank (BEAC) approved its 2027-2030 strategy and the Domestic Gold Purchase Program (PAOD) on October 5, 2026, in N’Djamena. In 2025, the gold reserves remained unchanged at 6.28 tonnes, despite their book value increasing by 159 billion FCFA to 492.9 billion FCFA, driven by gold price increases. This reflects a latent gain without an increase in physical gold or sale proceeds. The PAOD approval continues the gold monetization policy adopted in April 2026 by the Central African Monetary Union.
