Central Colombia forest fire threatens tourist town of Villa de Leyva

A massive wildfire has broken out in central Colombia, threatening the tourist town of Villa de Leyva. The blaze has already consumed 40 hectares of native forest, and Colombian President Abelardo de la Espriella pledged to mobilize all state resources to fight the fire. Two aircraft and a military helicopter are being dispatched to combat the flames, as the dry season and El Niño phenomenon exacerbate the situation.
