Certificate scandal: Ex-Minister Nnaji reacts to ICPC witness's testimony

Uche Nnaji, Nigeria’s former Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, has responded after an ICPC investigator told a court that the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and the NYSC had disowned certificates allegedly attributed to him. His defence team called for balanced reporting, saying the prosecution’s claims should not be treated as established facts while the trial is ongoing and no judgment has been delivered. The team said the prosecution’s first witness had been cross-examined and that objections to the documents’ admissibility could be considered during final addresses. The trial was adjourned until November 5, 2026.
