Chad and Algeria reaffirm diplomatic rapprochement

Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf visited N'Djamena on November 3 and met Chadian President Mahamat Idriss Déby and his counterpart, Ahmat Kogri. Talks covered implementation of 27 bilateral agreements concluded in April, including a 40-megawatt power plant in the Chadian capital, whose foundation stone was laid in June. The officials also discussed security cooperation, instability in the Sahel and efforts to combat terrorism. Attaf noted the two countries’ shared priorities on security, stability and development.
