Chahi Cooperative from Bukavu Reaches Out to Its Savers in Kinshasa

The Chahi savings and credit cooperative opened a branch in Kinshasa on May 9, 2026, after over 50 years of operation in Bukavu. This initiative aims to support members displaced by the war in the East of the country by providing proximity financial services such as savings and credit. The managing director, Patient Choya, emphasized the importance of this opening in a context of deteriorating security in Eastern DRC, where several financial institutions have closed.
