Childline KZN urges stronger partnerships to help abuse survivors speak out

Childline KwaZulu-Natal marks its 40th anniversary by emphasizing the importance of community support and the criminal justice system in protecting children. The 24/7 Crisis Helpline receives nearly 40,000 calls annually, with 38.64% related to abuse. During the annual general meeting, Advocate Omashani Naidoo highlighted that many children refrain from reporting abuse due to fear and social pressure. Childline plays a critical role in creating a safe environment that empowers children to speak out.
