China-Africa Cooperation: Elimination of Customs Duties for 53 African Countries

Starting May 1, China will eliminate customs duties on products from 53 African countries, excluding Eswatini. Officials and business leaders from South Africa and Kenya welcomed this initiative, stating it will expand trade opportunities and reduce costs for small businesses. This decision follows an offer from President Xi Jinping, who expressed his willingness to negotiate an economic partnership with African countries.
