China expels two top ‘disloyal’ military leaders from Communist Party

China has expelled two military generals, Zhang Youxia and Liu Zhenli, from the Communist Party on suspicion of corruption and serious misconduct. According to state-run Xinhua news agency, they violated political rules and were disloyal to the party. Investigations into the pair were announced in January, and their removal is part of a significant anti-corruption campaign initiated by President Xi Jinping.
