China probes ‘malicious’ cyberbullying of teen diving champion Quan

Chinese swimming authorities have launched an investigation into the cyberbullying of Quan Hongchan, a three-time Olympic gold medallist. At 19, Quan expressed the immense pressure she feels from toxic online commentary about her weight, revealing that she considered retiring after the Paris 2024 Games. The General Administration of Sport stated that it takes these online attacks very seriously and is working with officials in Guangdong province.
