Suspected cholera cases in Yemen have tripled in the past three weeks, driven by over 200,000 people fleeing intensified fighting and seeking safety in unsanitary camps. The number of suspected cases rose from 217 in early September to 647 at the end of September. Five southwestern governorates—Abyan, Lahij, al-Dhalea, Taiz, and Aden—account for 92% of reported cases, with the disease also reaching remote displacement camps in the east, which are difficult for medical teams to access.
