Christian Jové Ehrhardt, the new U.S. ambassador to Cameroon?

Christian Jové Ehrhardt, a career diplomat with the U.S. State Department since 2007 and currently deputy assistant secretary at the Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration, is reportedly the chosen candidate by Donald Trump to strengthen U.S.-Cameroon relations. He has previously served in Cameroon and led a delegation there in November 2025. His appointment awaits Senate confirmation before he can assume the role of ambassador.
