CMA seeks risk ratings of 320 money market funds - Business Daily

The Capital Markets Authority (CMA) is working on proposals for unit trusts such as money market funds to obtain an investment rating, providing investors with a risk profile of the 320 funds managing over Sh1 trillion. The regulator believes that fund and investment manager ratings will offer additional protection for ordinary investors who lack the expertise to assess risks in various funds, including money market funds, balanced funds, equity, fixed-income, and special funds. This move aims to enhance investor security and transparency.
