Cocoa: 1,200 FCFA, anger rises, SYNAPCI gives decision-makers until September 16

The National Agricultural Union for Progress in Côte d'Ivoire (SYNAPCI) held a meeting on September 13, 2026, in Daloa to discuss the challenges faced by cocoa producers, particularly the price of 1,200 FCFA per kilogram, significantly lower than the 2,800 FCFA from the previous year. Producers are expressing their anger over this price and are considering not selling their cocoa until their demands are addressed. Koné Moussa, a representative of SYNAPCI, reaffirmed the producers' demands, including the resignation of the Director General of the Coffee-Cocoa Council.
