Cocoa: Don Mello attacks the price of 1,200 FCFA per kg and the Ivorian model

Ivorian opposition figure Ahoua Don Mello criticizes the government's decision to set the cocoa price at 1,200 FCFA per kilogram for the 2026-2027 season, following a record price of 2,800 FCFA the previous year. He questions the reserve fund intended to stabilize producers' incomes and calls for greater transparency in its management. Additionally, he warns of unsold stock accumulation and the risk of cross-border smuggling due to price discrepancies with Ghana.
