Cocoa: The Cameroonian producer would earn twice as much as his Ivorian counterpart

Cameroonian cocoa is currently trading between 2,750 and 2,900 FCFA/kg, while the guaranteed minimum price in Côte d'Ivoire is set at 1,200 FCFA/kg. This price difference results from public policies that promote market transparency and local processing. The National Cocoa and Coffee Board (ONCC) publishes prices daily, allowing Cameroonian producers to benefit from higher remuneration levels. In comparison, Côte d'Ivoire, the world's leading producer, announces a farm gate purchase price of 1,200 FCFA/kg for its 2026/2027 campaign.
