Colombia: Approval of a plan to cull wandering hippos linked to Pablo Escobar

Colombian authorities have approved a plan to cull up to 80 hippos descended from those brought by Pablo Escobar. These animals, located in the central region of the country, pose threats to villagers and disrupt native species. Environment Minister Irene Vélez stated that previous methods to control their population had failed and that culling was necessary to manage their numbers.
