Concession of Kings College: Parents threaten to shut down unity colleges

Parents of students in unity colleges in Nigeria plan to shut down the schools to protest the concession of Kings College to the Old Boys Association by the Federal Ministry of Education. They argue that the commercialization of public schools makes education unaffordable for the masses. The Zonal Coordinator of the Parent Teacher Association advised parents not to send their children to school for the new academic session, scheduled for September 14, 2026.
