Constitution Amendment: National Assembly gives states 30 Days

The National Assembly has transmitted the 2026 Constitution Amendment Bill to the Houses of Assembly of the 36 states for consideration and approval. The Clerk of the National Assembly, Kamoru Ogunlana, stated that states are expected to communicate their resolutions within 30 days, although this timeframe is administrative and not constitutional. The amendment requires approval from at least two-thirds of the state assemblies.
