Construction: Chinese Companies Capture 66% of 465 Billion FCFA Road Projects in Northern Cameroon

Chinese companies control nearly 306 billion FCFA of the 465 billion FCFA allocated to major road projects in northern Cameroon, including the Adamawa, North, and Far North regions. They execute 10 out of 16 contracts, mainly for the reconstruction of Ngaoundéré-Garoua, development of Maroua-Bogo-Pouss, and rehabilitation of Maroua-Moutourwa, Magada-Yagoua, and Mora-Kousseri roads. Despite their significant share, progress is slow, with less than 5% completion on Ngaoundéré-Garoua after ten months and between 14% and 19% on Magada-Yagoua.
