Controversy over Ousmane Sonko’s invitation to the Youth Olympic Games: Aminata Touré gives her account

Aminata Touré said on TFM that President Bassirou Diomaye Faye had invited Ousmane Sonko to the opening ceremony of the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games, held on October 31 in Diamniadio. She said the invitation was extended to the president of the National Assembly, as it was to other institutions, and that evidence could be produced. Touré stressed that political disputes should not affect relations between the institutions of the Republic or the respect owed to Sonko’s institutional position.
