COP17 in Mongolia concludes with $1.3 billion in green investment commitments

The COP17 took place in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, where 197 signatories of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification gathered to discuss solutions to desertification, which affects 77% of Mongolian territory. Organizers urged delegations to go beyond statements and find concrete solutions to make lands greener. Major financial institutions, such as the World Bank Group, were invited to participate in this effort.
