The national livestock supply campaign was launched in Gagnoa on October 24, 2026, at a ceremony that also marked the laying of the foundation stone for a future livestock market. Animal and Fisheries Resources Minister Sidi Tiémoko Touré said the initiative aims to better coordinate the sector, increase domestic production and make animal products more accessible. Marius N’Guessan Assoih, representing board chair Issiaka Sawadogo, cited challenges including transport costs, delays at border corridors, inadequate modern sales infrastructure and limited access to financing.
