Côte d’Ivoire: Konrad Adenauer Foundation Steps Up Its Democracy and Security Initiatives

The Konrad Adenauer Foundation said its regional programs reached more than 2,700 direct beneficiaries in Côte d’Ivoire in 2025. Their work was presented on October 22, 2026, at the inauguration of the foundation’s new regional headquarters in Cocody, and includes political training, civic education and support for electoral security. The PDWA program reached nearly 1,700 people, while SIPODI recorded more than 1,000 beneficiaries and brought together 121 police and gendarmerie officials to discuss election security. The EU-funded WAEF project also trained nearly 70 young people and 45 women, and a study of barriers to youth political participation is expected to help prepare a youth parliamentary group in 2026.
