Countries move to ban social media for children

The European Union proposed on Wednesday to ban social media for children under 13, as over 20 countries seek to restrict children's access to these platforms. Australia was the first country to introduce a blanket ban for under-16s at the end of 2025. Other countries like Brazil, China, Indonesia, and Malaysia have also implemented similar measures to protect minors online.
