Court adjourns Kogi govt’s cybercrime case against Okai to November 16

The Lokoja High Court has adjourned the cybercrime case filed by the Kogi State Government against human rights activist Austin Okai to November 16, 2026, for the cross-examination of the prosecution’s star witness, Dr Folashade Arike Ayoade. Okai is accused of social media posts alleging the government diverted 13.4 billion Naira meant for local governments, linked to the ACRESAL project. The witness confirmed receiving calls about the allegations and filed a petition with the DSS, stating the funds involved were related to the ACRESAL project, endorsed by Governor Ododo.
