Court of Appeal upholds two-year jail term for ex-Unical law dean Ndifon

The Abuja Court of Appeal upheld the two-year imprisonment of Professor Cyril Osim Ndifon, former Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Calabar, for soliciting pornographic, indecent, and obscene photographs from a female student. The court also set aside proceedings related to an undue advantage charge, transferring it to a higher court in Cross River State. Ndifon was originally convicted in November 2025 by the Federal High Court, and his appeal was dismissed, affirming his sentence for the first count. ICPC stated it will continue prosecuting the second charge in the appropriate court.
