Court Rules Employers Cannot Fire Workers Without Giving Them a Hearing

The Employment and Labour Relations Court in Nairobi ruled that employers cannot fire workers without giving them a hearing. A Kasarani Stadium security guard was fired after being accused of participating in an unprotected strike in May 2021. The court found that the company failed to meet the requirement of fairness before dismissing him.
