Court to deliver judgment in suit against Yahaya Bello's senatorial candidacy Nov 19

Justice Inyang Edem Ekwo of the Federal High Court in Abuja has scheduled November 19 for judgment in a case challenging Yahaya Bello's emergence as the APC senatorial candidate for Kogi Central. APC aspirant Momoh Yusuf Obaro filed the suit, claiming he won the May 18 primary election and requesting the court to declare him the legitimate candidate and direct INEC to recognize and publish him as such. Yahaya Bello responded by asserting he secured 72,399 votes in the primary, far ahead of Obaro's 188, and urged the court to dismiss the case due to lack of merit and proper legal support.
